The Lord reveals the Ten Commandments
The Holy Bible, Old Testament, The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus Chapter 20
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God spake all these words, saying,
I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Do not worship any other gods or form of god or a replacement for god. There are many things you can put or replace God with in our lives, career's, people, environment, government leaders, worldly goods such as monies, gold, what ever you spend your life focused on as you forget the creator or God and put him 2nd place or farther down the list of daily importance.
2) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
This was meant for Idol's that some worship, be it a Golden Deity, a physical good such as a car, truck, home, etc. Today many people have an almost worship of them selves, their creations, you might say Internet, Gaming worlds etc. where many spend or waste their lives away in vain or foolish behaviors that waste your limited time here on Earth during your life.
3) Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that take's his name in vain.
This is serious, do Not use Gods name, as a swear word even if acting or any other reason. Respect the Creator of all things.
4) Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
5) Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God give's thee.
Honor your parents by respecting them for what they have done for you thus far in your life's journey. If they are striving to live the 10 Commandments then they will deserve your Honor, as they are doing their best to be an example for you.
6) Thou shalt not kill.
The shedding of innocent life (MURDER) is forbidden by Father in Heaven. It is allowable to protect your family from the evil powers who would seek their deaths, so self defense is ok. Defense of your freedoms granted by God against tyranny is permitted if so needed.
Murder is the focus of this Commandment.
7) Thou shalt not commit adultery.
If you look upon a man or woman and lust after them in your heart and mind you have done this. Keep your thoughts under control, Beware of the media you feed your mind, impure & immodest pictures, TV, movies, music, internet etc. Thoughts lead to actions.
8) Thou shalt not steal.
If it is not yours, do not take it. All theft, whether it be with a weapon you steal another's possession's or by legal twisting of laws you do the same or overbearing taxation's of people. This means all form's of theft. Do not do it.
9) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Do not gossip or say false things, stories, lies, deceitful, twisted words, anything that is a lie about anyone in the human family. Be honest, but do not embellish the truth so it becomes false statements.
10) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor.
Do not covet or desire and focus our life on another's anything. This again leads us to your thoughts, if you covet, desire what someone else has then it could lead to Adultery, Stealing, False witness to gain what you covet, all the other Commandments can be combined here.
It is ok to set goals to earn your success in life, honestly and through hard work, in doing so you will set rewards before you help you focus on your path towards success. Be it a new home, career, etc. But do not just desire what others have or covet what your not willing to work for, this is unhealthy.
