Netanyahu Blasts Iran & al-Qaeda in U.N. Speech: ‘The Medieval Forces of Radical Islam…Want to End the Modern World’

This afternoon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly, spending the bulk of his time warning the world against a nuclear-equipped Iran. He challenged global powers to draw a “red line…before Iran completes the second stage of nuclear enrichment to make a nuclear bomb,” and spoke fervently against radical Islam.
While Iran was the overarching focus, Netanyahu opened the speech by proclaiming that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel — a fact that the Obama administration has come under fire by critics for continuously failing to acknowledge. But rather than poking at his Western ally, Netanyahu used the opportunity to deride the Iranian regime, which has repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction.
“I say that to all those who proclaim that the Jewish state has no roots in our region and that it will soon disappear,” he said of the Jerusalem mention, going on to herald his nation’s ability to survive the odds. ”The people of Israel live on.”
The prime minister staked claim to Israel’s placement in the Middle East and said that “the Jewish people have come home” and that they “will never be uprooted again.” Similar to what Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did with his own country on Wednesday, Netanyahu praised Israel’s successes in technology, medicine, agriculture and other spheres, while taking aim at more draconian nations.
“In Israel, we walk the same paths tread by our patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but we blaze new trails in science, technology, medicine, agriculture,” he said. “Well, unfortunately, that’s not the case in many other countries.”
In these unnamed “other” nations, Netanyahu said that there is a “battle between [the] modern and [the] medieval.” He juxtaposed his nation, which he claims embraces peace and cherishes life, with Iran and others who he believes do not. The Middle Eastern leader also addressed Palestine in his critiques, claiming that its leaders must come to recognize the “one and only Jewish state.”
At the heart of the address was the notion that radical Islam, whether it comes from Iranian leaders or the al-Qaeda and other radical groups, must be combated. Terrorist ideologies, Netanyahu contended, are a threat not just to Israel, but also to every nation on earth.
“The medieval forces of radical Islam…seek supremacy over all Muslims…they want to extinguish freedom,” he continued. “They want to end the modern world.”
Netanyahu drew no distinctions between Iran and al-Qaeda, claiming that “despite their differences, they are all rooted in the same bitter soil of intolerance.” Their angst and violence, the leader said, are aimed at Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus — essentially anyone who doesn’t submit to their will.
“Ultimately, they will fail. Ultimately, light will penetrate the darkness,” Netanyahu continued.
In recalling memories from the not-so-distant past, the Israeli prime minister mentioned the lessons that the world learned from the Holocaust. While the international community sat and waited to address Adolf Hitler’s “fanatical ideology,” millions of people perished. Netanyahu urged the world not to let this happen again and claimed that the Iranian threat creates a parallel worth paying attention to.
“To understand what the world would be like with a nuclear-armed Iran, just imagine the world with a nuclear armed al-Qaeda,” he continued, at one point holding up an image of a bomb to illustrate that the problem must be stopped before it’s too late. ”Given this record of Iranian aggression without nuclear weapons, just imagine Iranian agression with nuclear weapons.”
Netanyahu also addressed Israel’s relationship with the U.S., at some points thanking Obama for his cooperation in terms of speaking out against Iran and supporting crippling sanctions. But while the Iranian economy has been hard-hit, Netanyahu said that the actions have failed to halt nuclear ambitions.
“We share the goal of stopping Iran’s nuclear weapons program,” he said of the U.S. and Israel’s joint concern. “Israel is in discussions with the United States on this issue and I am confident that we can chart a path…together.”

Entire books have been written about the problems with the “birth certificate” that was released by the White House purportedly documenting Barack Obama’s birth in Hawaii.
Computer imaging experts have found it to be fraudulent and the conclusion of an official law enforcement investigation assembled by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is that it is just not real.
But it wasn’t until now, through the work of the Christopher Monckton of Brenchley, that the world was informed just exactly what the odds are against all of those anomalies occurring naturally.
One in 62,500,000,000,000,000,000. (That’s 62.5 quintillion)
Or, if one prefers, the chances are 0.0000000000000000000016 that those curious developments happened by accident.
The question at hand is whether Obama is constitutionally qualified for the office, under the Constitution’s requirement that presidents be a “natural born citizen.” Some say even if he was born in Hawaii, he wouldn’t qualify, because of his father’s foreign student status. Many believe a “natural born citizen” is the offspring of two citizen parents.
Monckton previously has advised Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher about the fallacies of global warming, has written for the Yorkshire Post, was editor of the Catholic paper The Universe, managing editor of the Telegraph Sunday Magazine, assistant editor of Today, and consulting editor of the Evening Standard.
In a column today for WND, he crunched the numbers to show that such things developing in the ordinary course of events and those “mistakes” carrying no meaning are, well, unlikely.

In it, he castigated the UN delegates who chose to remain in the UN General Assembly hall as Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spoke there earlier in the day.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is in the U.S. for the United Nations General Assembly this week, met with Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan and other religious “leaders” on Tuesday, according to a photo posted on an English translation of Ahmadinejad’s website.
In the photo below, Farrakhan can be seen sitting and smiling in front of an Iranian flag, just one seat away from Ahmadinejad (Second from the left).
Farrakhan is one of the most controversial religious figures in all of America. He is openly anti-Semitic and anti-American and harbors extremist views. He has claimed that Jesus was black, accused Barack Obama of being a “murderer” after Libyan dictator Muammar Gadaffi was killed and called Jews “bloodsuckers” — just to name a few.
Ahmadinejad’s website says the Iranian president “made the remarks in a meeting with leaders of Abrahamic religions and peace activists” who share his same views on a new and just world order.

Keep in mind, the report comes directly from Ahmadinejad’s website, which the Iranian government controls. It would be interesting to hear exactly what was said during this meeting.

Stressing that the issue of Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities is politically-motivated, he said the US is focusing on such issues just to dominate the Middle East energy resources and is angry with Iran because Tehran does not let it achieve its objective.Ahmadinejad also said that many in the world, including Americans “hate” the “Zionist regime,” meaning Israel. I was born and raised as Muslim. My whole family is still Muslim. I know every genetic code of Muslim. I know Islamic brain. I live and breath with them. I am an insider. I left Islam when I understood that Islam is a sick and evil religion. The following are the Islamic message to the West.To the infidels of the West:
The Constitution for the new Islamic Republics of EuroArabia and AmerIslamia is under construction.
We will fight the infidel to death.
- Meanwhile American laws will protect us.
- Democrats and Leftist will support us.
- N.G.O.s will legitimize us.
- C.A.I.R. will incubate us.
- The A.C.L.U. will empower us.
- Western Universities will educate us.
- Mosques will shelter us
- O.P.E.C. will finance us
- Hollywood will love us.
- Kofi Annan and most of the United Nations will cover our asses.
Our children will immigrate from Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Indonesia and even from India to the US and to the other Western countries. They will go to the West for education in full scholarship. America is paying and will continue to pay for our children’s educations and their upbringing in state funded Islamic schools.
We will use your welfare system. Our children will also send money home while they are preparing for Jihad.
We will take the advantage of American kindness, gullibility, and compassion. When time comes, we will stab them in the back. We will say one thing on the camera and teach another thing to our children at home. We will give subliminal messages to our children to uphold Islam at any cost. Our children in America will always care more about Islamic Country’s interest than US interest.
We will teach our children Islamic supremacy from the very childhood. We will teach them not to compromise with Infidel. Once we do that from the very early age our children won’t hesitate to be martyr. We will take over the Europe first and then US will be the next. We already have a solid ground in the UK, Holland, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Germany, and now in the US.
Our children will marry Caucasian in Europe and in America. We will mixed with intricate fabric of the Western society but still will remember to Jihad when time comes. Who are we?

Stephens: Muslims, Mormons and Liberals - WSJ.com
'Hasa Diga Eebowai" is the hit number in Broadway's hit musical "The Book of Mormon," which won nine Tony awards last year. What does the phrase mean? I can't tell you, because it's unprintable in a family newspaper.
On the other hand, if you can afford to shell out several hundred bucks for a seat, then you can watch a Mormon missionary get his holy book stuffed—well, I can't tell you about that, either. Let's just say it has New York City audiences roaring with laughter.
The "Book of Mormon"—a performance of which Hillary Clinton attended last year, without registering a complaint—comes to mind as the administration falls over itself denouncing "Innocence of Muslims." This is a film that may or may not exist; whose makers are likely not who they say they are; whose actors claim to have known neither the plot nor purpose of the film; and which has never been seen by any member of the public except as a video clip on the Internet.
No matter. The film, the administration says, is "hateful and offensive" (Susan Rice), "reprehensible and disgusting" (Jay Carney) and, in a twist, "disgusting and reprehensible" (Hillary Clinton). Mr. Carney, the White House spokesman, also lays sole blame on the film for inciting the riots that have swept the Muslim world and claimed the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his staff in Libya.
So let's get this straight: In the consensus view of modern American liberalism, it is hilarious to mock Mormons and Mormonism but outrageous to mock Muslims and Islam. Why? Maybe it's because nobody has ever been harmed, much less killed, making fun of Mormons.
Here's what else we learned this week about the emerging liberal consensus: That it's okay to denounce a movie you haven't seen, which is like trashing a book you haven't read. That it's okay to give perp-walk treatment to the alleged—and no doubt terrified—maker of the film on legally flimsy and politically motivated grounds of parole violation. That it's okay for the federal government publicly to call on Google to pull the video clip from YouTube in an attempt to mollify rampaging Islamists. That it's okay to concede the fundamentalist premise that religious belief ought to be entitled to the highest possible degree of social deference—except when Mormons and sundry Christian rubes are concerned.
And, finally, this: That the most "progressive" administration in recent U.S. history will make no principled defense of free speech to a Muslim world that could stand hearing such a defense. After the debut of "The Book of Mormon" musical, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints responded with this statement: "The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening but the Book of Mormon as a volume of scripture will change people's lives forever by bringing them closer to Christ."
That was it. The People's Front for the Liberation of Provo will not be gunning for a theater near you. Is it asking too much of religious and political leaders in Muslim communities to adopt a similar attitude?
It needn't be. A principled defense of free speech could start by quoting the Quran: "And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation." In this light, the true test of religious conviction is indifference, not susceptibility, to mockery.
The defense could add that a great religion surely cannot be goaded into frenetic mob violence on the slimmest provocation. Yet to watch the images coming out of Benghazi, Cairo, Tunis and Sana'a is to witness some significant portion of a civilization being transformed into Travis Bickle, the character Robert De Niro made unforgettable in Taxi Driver. "You talkin' to me?"
A defense would also point out that an Islamic world that insists on a measure of religious respect needs also to offer that respect in turn. When Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi—the closest thing Sunni Islam has to a pope—praises Hitler for exacting "divine punishment" on the Jews, that respect isn't exactly apparent. Nor has it been especially apparent in the waves of Islamist-instigated pogroms that have swept Egypt's Coptic community in recent years.
Finally, it need be said that the whole purpose of free speech is to protect unpopular, heretical, vulgar and stupid views. So far, the Obama administration's approach to free speech is that it's fine so long as it's cheap and exacts no political price. This is free speech as pizza.
President Obama came to office promising that he would start a new conversation with the Muslim world, one that lectured less and listened more. After nearly four years of listening, we can now hear more clearly where the U.S. stands in the estimation of that world: equally despised but considerably less feared. Just imagine what four more years of instinctive deference will do.
On the bright side, dear liberals, you'll still be able to mock Mormons. They tend not to punch back, which is part of what makes so many of them so successful in life.

Obama Campaign Actually Replaces 50 Stars on American Flag With Campaign ‘O’ Logo

If you go to barackobama.com right now, you can buy your very own limited edition American flag print. But this isn’t any ordinary American flag; this is an American flag that replaces the 50 stars representing the 50 states with President Obama’s campaign logo.
The Obama campaign is selling the limited edition “Our Stripes: Flag poster” for $35 on its official website. The screen print was designed by Ross Bruggink and Dan Olson, according to the site.
As Fox News’ Todd Starnes points out, there is also another print for sale called “Our Stripes: Country Print” that also looks like an American flag but in the shape of the United States. Again, in the top left corner sits the Obama campaign logo instead of the 50 stars.
Promoting the new item, Obama’s official campaign Twitter account tweeted:
“The United States of Obama?” Starnes asks in his headline.

Further, just last week a Texas school district was forced to remove an American flag that has Obama’s face plastered on it. A group of Congressional leaders released a copy of a letter sent to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder expressing “concern” about the possible release of Omar Abdel Rahman following a report by TheBlaze that the U.S. State Department has held internal discussions about whether to consider a request from Egypt to transfer custody of the so-called Blind Sheikh, the radical Islamist cleric convicted in connection with the 1993 World Trade Center bombing,
“We are concerned about recent reports that the Obama administration is considering the release of Oma Abdel-Rahman … to the custody of Egypt for humanitarian and health reasons,” the letter begins. “If these reports are true, such considering would be extremely disconcerting as release of this convicted terrorist should not happen for any reason.”

Last night, TheBlaze spoke with Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) specifically about the reported request made by the Egyptian government. When asked how the U.S. should respond to a request to release or transfer custody of the blind sheik, Gohmert responded:

He doesn’t love you.
There’s only one thing they understand and that’s strength coming back at ‘em.
I have not, personally… I hope and pray that if this administration has been entertaining those that they will realize that we didn’t gain peace by letting murdering thugs go… It does not work when you let people who murder Americans go… trying to buy peace. Washington, D.C. – A group of House Republican Chairmen today expressed concern about reports that the Obama administration is considering the release of Omar Abdel-Rahman, also known as the “blind sheikh,” to the custody of Egypt for humanitarian and health reasons. In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Chairmen made clear that Abdel-Rahman, who inspired the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, should not be released to Egypt for any reason but should remain in federal prison.
The report about the possible removal of Abdel-Rahman comes a week after the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya during which U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed. Anti-American protests have spread throughout the Middle East, including Egypt where protestors stormed the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. The violence in Egypt has been attributed, in part, to that government’s demands for the blind sheikh’s release.
“Succumbing to the demands of a country whose citizens threaten our embassy and the Americans serving in it would send a clear message that acts of violence will be responded to with appeasement rather than strength,” the Chairmen wrote. “The release of Abdel-Rahman or any terrorist who plots to kill innocent Americans would be seen for what it is – a sign of weakness and a lack of resolve by the United States and its President.”
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith was joined in sending the letter by the Committee Chairmen who oversee foreign affairs and national security issues, including:
- House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen;
- House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers;
- House Committee on Armed Services Chairman Buck McKeon;
- House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Peter King;
- House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers;
- House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Chairman Frank Wolf; and
- House Appropriations Subcommittee on State of Foreign Operations Chairwoman Kay Granger.
